Sickle Cell Disease: Medical Student Research on Brain Inflammation
Third-year medical student Nicholas Farris discusses the MRI research he conducted to study brain inflammation in patients with sickle cell disease. The research was done under the guidance of his mentors, Dr. Craig Branch and Dr. Henny Billett at Einstein and Montefiore Health System. Nicholas received the 2014 American Society of Hematology Honors Award. He plans to specialize in pediatric hematology oncology.
