Postdoctoral Position in Cardiovascular Research

Job Description:

Two postdoctoral positions, in the area of cardiovascular biology and regenerative medicine, are immediately available in the laboratory of Professor Bin Zhou at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York.  The primary research focus of the lab is to understand the molecular and genetic mechanisms of cardiovascular development and regeneration.  The specific areas of interest include the specification and differentiation of cardiovascular cells, the genetic/epigenetic and signaling regulation of heart development and regeneration, and the molecular and genetic mechanisms of congenital cardiovascular anomalies (Circulation Research, PMID: 21597012; Cell, PMID: 23178125; European Heart Journal, PMID: 26491108; Nucleic Acid Research, PMID: 27956497; Nature Communications, PMID: 28924218; 29215012).

Recent PhD graduates (or equivalents) with training in any field of biology are welcome to apply.  Candidates with experience in cardiovascular research using mouse models and induced pluripotent stem cells will be given preference.  Applicants with additional qualifications in CRISPR/Cas9 technology and basic bioinformatics are encouraged to apply.  The qualified candidates are expected to be self-motivated and team-oriented.  Albert Einstein College of Medicine provides postdoctoral trainees with an excellent work environment; campus housing for individuals and families may also be available.  The positions are available for four years and supported by NIH funding, with salaries/benefits according to the NIH and institutional guidelines.
