Job Title:

Postdoctoral Position - Human Microbiome in Health and Disease

Job Description:

Albert Einstein College of Medicine is a leading biomedical institution, located in New York City, with a strong commitment to excellence in research.  The Department of Epidemiology and Population Health is well recognized for its multi-disciplinary programs in epidemiologic and prevention research.

We are expanding our team at the postdoctoral level to advance new research initiatives on the epidemiology of the human microbiome.  Building upon major NIH-initiated cohort studies, our areas of research focus include determinants of cardiometabolic disease among multiethnic populations; nutritional epidemiology; women's health; HIV-related research; and multi-omics research (microbiome, metabolomics, genomics, transcriptomics).  Projects will involve collaboration with large cohort studies:  the Hispanic Community Health Study/Study of Latinos (HCHS/SOL) and the Women's Interagency HIV Study (WIHS).

We are seeking a highly motivated applicant with outstanding training in epidemiology, biostatistics, or bioinformatics of the microbiome or other -omics data.  While cardiometabolic disease, kidney disease, HIV-related disease, and women's health/menopause are the main focuses of this position, individuals with interests in related conditions and risk factors are welcome to apply.  Experience in R programming is a plus.
