The Einstein Postdoctoral Individual Development Plan

Job Title:

Postdoctoral Position in Cancer Research, Laboratory of Ed Schwartz and Hongling Zhao

Job Description:

Postdoctoral opportunities are available in the laboratory of Ed Schwartz and Hongling Zhao at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York (Departments of Medicine/Oncology, Molecular Pharmacology and Developmental and Molecular Biology), and the Einstein Cancer Center.

Our lab focuses on the discovery and development of new cellular targets and drugs to treat lung and prostate cancer.  We use genetic, molecular, and pharmacologic approaches to identify and validate actionable targets downstream of the RB1 tumor suppressor gene.  Studies include the use of mouse models of cancer, including genetically-engineered mice and patient-derived xenografts.  We also collaborate with computational and medicinal chemists to develop new drugs.

Use your cell, molecular, and tumor biology skills to advance lead compounds to clinical trials.

Some of our recent publications include Cancer Cell 2013, 24:645-659; Oncogene 2015, 34:4547-4557; J Biol Chem 2016, 291:1020-1029; Oncogene 2017, 36:60-70; Molecular Pharmacology 2019, 95:127-138; and Cancer Discovery 2015, 5:1262-1270.

Candidates should have completed PhD training in Cancer biology, pharmacology, cell or molecular biology or related fields.  Those with experience in mouse models of cancer and current molecular biology techniques, in particular, are encouraged to apply.  Successful candidates should exhibit strong motivation, productivity and publication records.  Candidates are expected to be able to work well in a team as well as independently.
