Job Description:

Positions of postdoctoral scientists are available in Dr. Dongsheng Cai’s laboratory in Department of Molecular Pharmacology, Diabetes Research Center, and Institute of Aging, at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.


Cai’s laboratory has interest in studying fundamental questions, including: (1) brain mechanisms of aging, lifespan and longevity at cellular and animal (rodents) levels; (2) neural and endocrine mechanisms of obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and neurodegenerative disease; (3) biology of neuropeptides, neural stem cells and microRNAs; (4) neural inflammation and immunology; (5) epigenetics, including DNA methylation analysis.


Some discoveries have been demonstrated in Cai lab's publications, such as Cell, 135 (1): 61-73, 2008; Nature Medicine, 17 (7): 883-7, 2011; Neuron, 69 (3): 523-35, 2011; PNAS, 108(7):2939-44, 2011; Nature Cell Biology 14 (10): 999-1012, 2012; Nature, 497(7448): 211-6, 2013; and Nature Medicine,20(9):1001-8, 2014; and Nature Immunology,16(5):525-33, 2015; Nature Communications,6:6704, 2015, Cell Metabolism, 25(5): 1091-1102, 2017, and Nature 2017 in press.


Candidates should have completed PhD training or equivalent, and have independent research ability, strong research interest, ambitious scientific goals, and self motivation. He/she will be provided with sufficient support and freedom to ask important research questions and independently develop innovative research projects.
