Richard Libman, MD joined the North Shore-LIJ Health System in 1993 and is the Chief of Cerebrovascular Diseases and the Stroke Center Director at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. His passion and dedication to the care of stroke patients is unsurpassed. He was a local co-principal investigator for the 1993-1995 NIH t-PA Stroke Trial and has been the principal investigator on numerous acute stroke and stroke prevention trials since then.
Dr. Libman was a neurology resident at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed a Cerebrovascular post-doctoral fellowship at Columbia University. He currently chairs the North Shore LIJ Systemwide Stroke Committee and is recognized throughout the System as an expert on Acute Stroke Management.
