Professional Interests

Lisa Hutchison, MD, is an assistant professor of psychiatry & behavioral sciences at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center.  Dr. Hutchison attended medical school at Washington University in St. Louis and completed residency at Brown University.  She is board certified in pediatrics, psychiatry, and child and adolescent psychiatry.  Dr. Hutchison serves as associate director of the psychiatry residency program at Montefiore/Albert Einstein College of Medicine.  She is also an attending psychiatrist on the child and adolescent psychiatry consultation-liaison service in the Children's Hospital at Montefiore, psychiatric director of the Eating Disorders Program at Montefiore, and the editor-in-chief of the Montefiore/Einstein Virtual Support Center.  

Dr. Hutchison has a particular interest in the treatment of complex medical/psychiatric disorders including somatic symptom disorder, catatonia, and delirium.  She is leading quality improvement projects within the Children's Hospital focused on the prevention and safe management of agitated patients and is co-chair of the CHAM Behavioral Health Task Force.  Dr. Hutchison is also passionate about both undergraduate and graduate medical education and is involved in curriculum development within the medical school, psychiatry residency, and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowships.  

Dr. Hutchison is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP), and the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry (ACLP).  She is a co-chair of the AACAP Early Career Psychiatrist Committee and a member of the AACAP Physically Ill Child Committee.
