Professional Interests

Dr. Elina Jershow at SuperDoctorsDr. Elina Jerschow is an Associate Professor of Medicine (Allergy and Immunology) and an attending physician for pediatric and adult allergy and immunology at Einstein/Montefiore.

After completing her fellowship, Dr. Jerschow joined Merck & Co., Inc. as an associate director in the Department of Clinical Immunology. During the work at Merck, her main research focused on the evaluation of adverse drug reactions in study participants and on developing new therapeutic targets in the area of immunology.

After returning to the Einstein/Montefiore Department of Medicine, Dr. Jerschow established a Center for AERD and Drug Allergy. She is providing continuous care to patients with AERD and allergies to medications. She has also been selected as New York Times Super Doctor and NY Top Doctor for several years.

Dr. Jerschow’s current research goals include the following:

  • to characterize the role of a subset of T-helper-2 cells known as Th2A cells in AERD severity, and their impact on treatment outcomes;
  • to understand the nasal polyp tissue contribution to the severity of the disease and to eicosanoid abnormalities in AERD.
