Two Einstein Researchers Honored During Kidney Week
Michal Melamed, M.D., an associate professor of medicine and of epidemiology & population health at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and a nephrologist at Montefiore Health System, received the Distinguished Mentor Award by the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) during its annual Kidney Week. During the same week, Wei Chen, M.D., an assistant professor of medicine and a nephrologist at Montefiore, received the Young Investigator Award from the Chinese American Society of Nephrology for her work in vascular calcification in patients with chronic kidney disease.
