The Latino Network Core will build on the landmark Hispanic Community Hispanic Community Health Study/Study of Latinos (HCHS/SOL), a community-based cohort of 16,415 adults from four cities with large Latino communities — Bronx, NY, Miami, FL, San Diego, CA and Chicago, IL.
The overall goal is to support translational research that focuses on cutting-edge diabetes prevention and control with emphasis on sociocultural adaption for Latinos in U.S. The leadership and core faculty will provide expertise in Latino biopsychosocial research and collaborate with members of the HCHS/SOL investigative team, and other investigators interested in diabetes-related research in Latinos.
The Latino Network Core and the New York Regional Center for Diabetes Translation Research are supported by National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (grant numbers DK111022- 8788 and DK111022). Users of Core resources please acknowledge this in your publications and presentations.
