Overcoming Scholarly Procrastination

Event Description:

Faculty members are expected to produce scholarly work for professional growth and academic advancement. However, medical educators have days filled with seeing patients, teaching, and administrative tasks, and defer addressing their scholarly work

Dr. Grayson will review the different types of procrastination and develop strategies with participants to overcome the obstacles that can get in the way of starting and completing an academic project. Participants will leave with a personalized plan to move forward with their scholarly work.

At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

- Explain the "cycle of procrastination."

- Assess their personal strengths and weaknesses against the procrastination cycle.

- Explain strategies for minimizing scholarly procrastination.

- Develop a personal plan to reduce the procrastination of your scholarly activities.
