Medical School Challenges

Navigating through medical school is a challenge. It requires developing new coping and study skills to meet the demands of a fast-paced curriculum.  It is common knoweldge that medical students suffer from anxiety, depression and other mental health concerns.  Anxiety is the issue most often mentioned by medical students who visit campus mental health services.  Students also identify depression as one of the top ten impediments to academic performance along with stress and sleep difficulties. 

This section offers additional  information and strategies for taking a proactive approach toward tackling common difficulties facing medical students, such as "test anxiety" and "study burn out".
