Title: Postdoctoral Position, Laboratory of Dr. B. Hilda Ye, PhD
JOB DESCRIPTION:
A POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP is available immediately to study the molecular and cellular mechanisms of HTLV-1 driven adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATLL). Being the only human cancer caused by a retrovirus, ATLL is a fatal disease with no effective therapy. ATLL is distinguished from other types of T cell lymphomas in its unique genetic and phenotypic characteristics as well as clinical behavior. Evidence is also accumulating that ATLL diagnosed in North America and Japan may differ in their mutation patterns and anti-HTLV-1 host immune response. We use patient samples as well as cell line and PDX models to investigate the roles played by epigenetic dysregulation, altered crosstalk of cell signaling pathways, elevated replication stress in ATLL development and targeted therapies. Recent PhD or MD graduates with significant research experience are preferred. Proficiency in molecular biology techniques including the manipulation and analysis of gene expression in cultured and primary cells is required. Some knowledge of immunology would be desirable, so are computational skills. First authored publication(s) in peer-reviewed, English language journals are necessary. Ability to work independently, motivation to make new discoveries and a strong work ethic are important. Title: Postdoctoral Position in Molecular Virology, Laboratory of Dr. Margaret Kielian
JOB DESCRIPTION:
An NIH-funded postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Kielian laboratory at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. Our lab uses enveloped alphaviruses and rubiviruses as highly developed and medically important systems to study virus entry and virus biogenesis at the molecular level. We are looking for a motivated and creative postdoctoral candidate to join exciting NIH-funded projects to identify and characterize inhibitors of alphavirus replication and to identify host factors involved in rubivirus replication.
Projects use multidisciplinary approaches and take advantage of the interactive and collaborative atmosphere of our lab and of the Einstein research environment. Title: Postdoctoral Position: Mammalian Epigenomics, Chromatin Structure and Function, Cancer.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
A postdoctoral position is available at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the laboratory of Dr. Art Skoultchi, Professor and Chair of Cell Biology.
The goal is to understand the roles of H1 linker histones in chromatin structure and function, gene regulation and cancer. We have prepared a unique series of knock-out mice and ES cell lines lacking specific H1 histones. JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Ito Laboratory at the Ruth L. and David S. Gottesman Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine Research of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine is actively seeking highly motivated postdoctoral fellows. Our research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms that regulate the maintenance of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) and leukemia-initiating cells (LICs; also referred to as leukemia stem cells). Specifically, we aim to identify novel regulatory mechanisms for stem cell fate and maintenance, and in turn open new therapeutic avenues for the pharmacological manipulation of the normal and leukemic stem cell function. Projects in the laboratory is to illuminate through both genetic and pharmacological approaches the role of one such potential regulatory element, cellular metabolism and epigenetic regulation, in the cell fate decisions of self-renewing stem cells. The laboratory employs a wide range of stem cell analysis with specialized skill sets, genomic technologies as well as classical cellular and molecular biology approaches to investigate the normal stem cell biology at single cell level and the pathogenesis of specific human stem cell disorders.
