Ms. Chin works directly with the senior associate deans for students in the office of student affairs (OSA). The OSA serves more than 750 students per year. In her role, Ms. Chin provides high-level support to the senior associate deans for students and deals with sensitive and highly confidential matters, communicating effectively with faculty, staff, and students.

Belfer Institute for Advanced Biomedical Studies

The Belfer Institute serves as a resource to current and prospective postdoctoral fellows, faculty members and administrators for any and all issues related to postdoctoral researchers. These include, but are not limited to organizing all educational and social programs and activities sponsored by the Belfer Institute; overseeing postdoctoral policies with regard to hiring, appointments and terminations; monitoring postdoctoral salaries and anniversary increments; overseeing the management of postdoctoral housing at Einstein, including the assignment of incoming postdoctoral fellows to available housing slots and mediation of problems involving work-related issues between faculty and postdoctoral fellows.

Ms. Pace works directly with the associate dean for student admissions, providing high-level support and dealing with highly confidential matters. The office of admissions receives and processes over 7,500 medical school applications per year. Ms. Pace is responsible for meeting and greeting the medical school interviewees (ensuring their interview day runs smoothly, and answering all queries for the applicant), and serves as liaison to management, faculty, and medical school applicants, setting up the weekly Admissions Committee meetings, and assisting all newly accepted students with all questions.

Einstein's executive dean is the executive officer with responsibility for providing leadership in the areas of the campus, academic, capital, enrollment and financial planning, policy analysis, and fiscal administration; development and implementation of academic personnel policy and faculty support programs, and management of the academic personnel process. Under the general direction of the executive dean, and as his administrator, Dr. Piñzón serves as the administrator responsible for Cayuse grants, search committees, and managing and maintaining operational components for the department.

Einstein’s Office of Diversity Mentoring is a new department created by the associate dean for diversity mentoring to help members of underrepresented groups at the College of Medicine. The department will provide mentoring to assist junior faculty, postdocs, Ph.D. and M.D.-Ph.D. students from diverse backgrounds by developing programs that will facilitate career development and excellence at Einstein and beyond. Dr. Piñzón is responsible for managing and maintaining operational components for the department.

Ms. Santiago-Cushing maintains general functionality of the CFO's office, handles finance approval inquiries, i.e., request for payments, mainframe system access forms, etc.; and manages the CFO's calendar and web maintenance for the Einstein office of finance website. She also works closely with the budget office in preparing and submitting city and state funds reports for Einstein's clinical programs. For the research finance office, Ms. Santiago-Cushing is an eRA Commons, accounts administrator (AA) facilitating the administration of the NIH eRA Commons accounts for the institution. She also serves as a backup to the general accounting bookkeeper when she is out of the office.

Ms. Velez provides administrative support, schedules appointments and meetings, serves as liaison to those offices directly involved with the educational mission and administrative offices, and manages the day-to-day activities for the senior associate dean for medical education, Dr. Joshua D. Nosanchuk, and for the senior administrator, Martin Penn, CPA, in the office of education.
